💥🚀 The NFT market is heating up again in 2023! 🚀💥 Two single Ethereum NFTs from the popular CryptoPunks and Bored Ape Yacht Club projects each sold for over $1 million worth of ETH in the past 24 hours. 💰💰
CryptoPunk #5066 was sold by Kevin Rose, the co-founder of NFT start-up Proof (Moonbirds) and a noted NFT collector for 857 ETH, or $1.4 million. Bored Ape Yacht Club #7090 was sold by Web3 creator and collector Jimmy “j1mmy” McNelis for 800 ETH, or $1.3 million.
This shows the continuing momentum for the NFT industry following a significant rise in activity dating back to late 2022. The market saw record-breaking trading volume last year, but prices fell over the summer and into the fall due to a decline in crypto prices and industry contagion.
However, data from DappRadar shows that the organic NFT trading volume ticked up slightly in December and surged in January, with sales volume increasing 38% to nearly $947 million, and the total number of NFTs sold during the month rising 42% to 9.5 million.
